Kind of like Playlists, End Action Overrides are another way that you can give your viewers more control over what they are watching. In this example, which is actually very similar to the Playlist example, we have a Play All button, which plays a beach slideshow. The End Action of the Beach Slideshow is the Cal Orchards Slideshow. Then we go back to the menu after the Orchards Slideshow. But what if when we want to play the Beach Slideshow, we want it to just play the Beach Slideshow, and then come straight back to the menu.
Well, for that what we could do is set up an End Action Override. So with this Beach button selected, I'm going to set the link as the Beach Slideshow. Now the End Action of the Beach Slideshow is to go to the Cal Orchards Slideshow, but I don't want that to happen. When they access the Beach Slideshow from this Button, I want the End Action of the Beach Slideshow to be different. So I set up the new End Action here in the Override area for this button.
So in other words, again, the Override, the End Action Override is actually a function of the button. So, I have this Button selected still, the Link is to Beach Slideshow. The Override will be to take it back to the menu. So what I'm going to do now, double- check the Beach Slideshow, make sure the Slide Duration is only 3 seconds. Actually, we could take this down to 2 seconds. Then I'm going to take the Cal Orchards Slideshow Slide Duration to 2 seconds as well. So when we preview this, it's not taking forever.
Let's go ahead and preview, clicking the Preview button. When we click the Play All button, we play the first slideshow, the Beach Slideshow, which again, I have going really fast. We don't have to sit here waiting for this thing forever. It's almost done here. That's the final image. End Action is to go to the Orchards Slideshow. There are just a few images here, and they don't move. Then they go back to the menu.
So that is how we set up the End Actions with the Slideshow. Actually, I set that up before the project started. So now we're going to click on the Beach button. This is going to take us to the Beach Slideshow only. Then hopefully, if everything has been set up correctly, at the end of this Beach Slideshow, we'll be taken back to the menu, because the End Action of the Beach Slideshow will have been overridden by our End Action Override for the Beach Button.
It has, and it worked. So, End Action Overrides, again, just like Playlist are another way that you can control the way that viewers see your content.
