One function of the Organizer is to allow you to view your photos and there are a number of features here to facilitate photo viewing. To start with, I'm going up to the Display menu, and I'm going to move back from the Folder Location view that we are using in order to more easily access our exercise files to the default Thumbnail view. This offers a low resolution thumbnail of our original photos. If I wanted to devote the entire screen to these thumbnails, I can collapse this Task pane on the right. The easy way to do that is to go to the border between the Task pane and the Photo Browser and double-click.
The Zoom feature at the top of the screen makes it easy to zoom in and out on your thumbnails, just click and drag that slider to the right to make each thumbnail bigger. And if you want to see a thumbnail at full size, click the icon to the right of the Zoom bar. When you zoomed in all the way like this, you can then go over to the right side, where you will find a scroll bar. Go down to the bottom and click on the arrow at the bottom of that bar. To view your photos as large as they can be seen one-by-one. And of course, you can go back the other way by clicking the arrow at the top of the scroll bar.
If you go back to the Zoom bar in the menu, and you click the icon on the left side, you will see your photo thumbnails as small as they can be seen. Here in the menu bar is a Detail check box. If you uncheck that, you will see your photo thumbnails without any information under them. If you check that, you will see the date. It also is helpful to be able to see the file names under the thumbnails. To do that, you first have to go back to the zoom bar, and drag to the right so that there is room to see those file names, and then you want to make sure that in the View menu Show File Names is enabled.
Also in this View menu, you can choose to see different media types. The Photo Browser isn't just for viewing photos. You can also view small videos here, as well as audio clips, and projects that you have made in Elements along with PDF files, and finally you can choose to Show Grid Lines around your thumbnails, which sometimes make them easier to see. So that's the summary of some of the view features here in the Organizer.
