Photoshop Elements 7 is packed with features to help amateur photographers with every stage of digital photo processing, from getting organized to sharing projects with family and friends. In Photoshop Elements 7 for Windows Essential Training, Jan Kabili shares workflow techniques for organizing, editing, creating projects, and sharing. She also demonstrates how to enhance photos with this budget-friendly software. Jan explains the latest updates to the Organizer and Editor workspaces, and also covers new features like the Smart Brush tool and Photoshop.com integration. Elements is very well known for its project features, and Jan shows how to create books, collages, panoramas, and more. Example files accompany the course.
If you are a premium member of the lynda.com Online Training Library, or if you purchased a DVD of this course, you have access to the exercise files that I'll be using throughout the course. If you do have the exercise files, I suggest that you put the entire Exercise Files folder on your desktop as I have done here. If you look inside the Exercise Files folder, you'll see that the exercise files are organized by chapter folders and inside the chapter folders are subfolders that correspond to each movie. In those subfolders you'll find the files that I used to work through that movie. In this course, we usually won't be opening the exercise files directly from these folders. Instead, I recommend that you open the individual exercise files from inside of Elements, from an area called the Organizer.
The Organizer is a special workspace for viewing and managing photos in Elements, and we will be learning a lot about the Organizer in this course. In the first two movies, in the chapter title bringing in photos, I'm going to show you how to create a separate catalog, or database for the exercise files inside the Organizer, and I'll show you how to bring the exercise files into that Organizer, so you're ready to use them throughout the course. If you are a monthly or annual non-premium subscriber to the Online Training Library, unfortunately you don't have access to these particular files, but you're welcome to use your own photos instead, or just listen and follow along with me that way.
