Video: Sharing photos to Facebook

From Elements Organizer, you can upload photos directly to Facebook and to other photo sharing sites like Flickr and SmugMug. Let's see how to share from Elements to Facebook. I'll select one or more photos here in the Organizer to put on Facebook. Now of course you need to be online to do this and I'll go to the Share menu and I'll choose Facebook. In this window, I'll authorize the two programs to talk to one another. I'm going to uncheck Download Facebook friend list. I really don't want my entire Facebook friend list in Elements.

I'm just going to click Authorize. That opens Facebook where I can log into my account. Then Facebook tells me that I can close this window and return to Elements. So I'll do that. Back in Elements, I see a window that asks me to complete that authorization between the programs, I'll click that button and that opens the window where I can upload this particular photo to Facebook. If I want to add some more photos at this point, I can click this green Plus symbol and navigate to more on my photos on my computer.

If I'm uploading photos of people and I've run them through people recognition so that they have tags or if I've given them keyword tags, I can upload those tags with the photos. I'm going to uncheck that for now, this isn't a photo of a person, so it's really not relevant. And then I'll go over here and I'll choose either to upload photos to an existing album in Facebook or if I want, I can create a brand-new album. Well, let's see if I have an existing album, I do, an album of Elements 10 photos. Well, I want to actually start a new album of photos that I prepared in Elements 11.

So I'll click Upload Photos to a new album. I'll give this album a name, Elements 11, I could add some more information, but I'll just leave that blank for now. And when I create a new album in Facebook this way, I can choose from these privacy settings, who is going to be able to see the photos that I'm uploading. I'll leave that set to the default of Friends Only. I can also choose the upload quality. I'll leave this at Standard, so that the upload goes as fast as possible. But if I wanted to upload a higher quality photo, I could choose that, although it may take longer to upload.

And then I'll just click Upload. When the upload is complete, I'll get this message. At this point, I have a choice to click Done, in which case nothing really happens or to Visit Facebook to see that photo. I'd like to visit Facebook, so I'll click that and that opens my web browser where I can log into my Facebook account. In Facebook, I'll go to my Wall and there I can see that the last post is this photo of Paris by my friend John Lorenz. I'm going to scroll up and click on Photos, so that I can see that I now have a brand-new album for my Elements 11 photos.

If I click on that album, I can see the photos in the album, in this case just the single photo that I just uploaded to Facebook. So that's a pretty streamlined process for quickly uploading photos directly from Elements Organizer to Facebook or you can try uploading to SmugMug or Flickr or even Adobe Revel.
