Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 provides some powerful tools to help you do everything from managing and organizing your photos, to optimizing your images and making basic adjustments, to sharing your final results and making great prints. In this introduction to Photoshop Elements, Chad Chelius walks you through the new features introduced in Photoshop Elements 10, including tools to improve searching for photos and dealing with duplicates and new effects like Depth of Field and the Orton effect. Along the way, discover how to add special effects to your photos, tag images both by keyword and with the people recognition feature, and correct common problems like underexposure, overexposure, and color casts.
Photoshop Elements 10 provides several ways for you to create projects from your photos, in Photoshop Elements 10. It also makes it incredibly easy to order physical products from those photos as well. In this video I'd like to show you how to order prints from photos in the Elements 10 organizer. Within the Elements 10 organizer, I want to select some photos that I'd like to order prints from. So if you have become organized and you've used albums or you're using keyword tags, these are two great ways to find photos that you'd like to order from a particular subject. So, what I'm going to do is I"m going to scroll down here and I'm going to turn on the Ocean City places key word tag.
And these are all the photos that I've taken from Ocean City. So I would like to order these products, I'd like to make prints of these. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to go up to the edit menu and I'm going to choose select all, and that's going to select all the photos that I have visible here in my Media browser. Now I'm going to come over here to the create tab, and this is where I get started. Now, there are a number of different things that you can create from within the Elements 10 organizer. Now I will point out, however, that some of them you cannot do without another product.
So for example if I choose DVD with menu. It's going to give me an error telling me that I need Adobe Premier Elements which is the video editing component very similar to Photoshop Elements 10. So without this product I can't do it, although it does provide you a way for you to download a trial version. That is a 30-day trial that you can use to test. But for now, I'm going to cancel out of this. Both the Instant Movie and the DVD with menu, both require that you have Photoshop Premiere Elements. So, I'm going to start by choosing Photo Prints.
So, I'm going to choose that option. And it gives you several options within that category. One option is to print these to my local printer. I can choose print picture package, which allows you to configure your photos in a variety of different configurations. I can print a contact sheet, which would be a sheet of smaller versions of my photos. But down at the bottom I have two options that allow me to order prints from online photo services. And this is a way that photoshop elements directly connects to these online services and makes it super easy for you to order prints. So I'm going to show you how to do it using shutterfly.
So I'm going to click the Order Prints from Shutterfly button, and it's going to prepare those files to send to Shutterfly. In the resulting Order Shutterfly Prints dialog, it's asking me to either, create an account, or sign in using my existing account. Now I've been a Shutterfly memeber for years so I'm going to go ahead and sign in using their service and I'm going to enter my information. Click the sign in button, and once I'm signed in you're going to see that I have all of my information right here ready to go.
All of those photos that I had selected are now inside of this order Shutterfly prints dialog. I can specify what options I want to choose, I can also come in here and customize which ones I want to order. So here I have a four by six I can say well give me two of those. I'm going to go through here. This one is a good one of my daughter. I'm going to get three of these for the grandparents. This is a great photo, give me an 8 x 10 of each of these.
And you can continue going through here. What's also really nice is that I can custom configure a message for the back of each of these prints. As I'm going through here, I might see a photo that I decide I really don't want, so I can click the remove button, and that's going to remove it from my list. You can continue going through here, and once you're happy you can come back up here to see what options you have, and then I can click the Next button.
It asks me for my mailing address, so I'm going to go ahead and click Add New Address. Call this one, video to brain. Click the Save now button, and then I'll click the Next button. Now it's going to give me the total for my order, which is a considerable deal no matter how you cut it. I can choose my shipping method if I want it next day I can use next day and it will update the total. Then I'm going to go ahead and click the Next button, and then it will ask me for my payment information. I'm not going to enter my credit card information here, but you can see that the final step is to upload your photos.
And then it will display a comfirmation as well. As you can see prints are just a few clicks away, what are you waiting for? Order your own prints today.
