Missing media and correctly saving projects
So I'm going to start Premiere Elements right now and work on a file that I edited earlier, but what if I go into my exercise files and you know what, I decide that I wanted to move a piece of footage such as this one into a different folder. Call this oh no. Drag it in there. So that's not part of the same hierarchy as it was before. Now let's launch Premiere Elements. So Premiere Elements is launched. I am going to go up here and choose File > Open Project. I'm going to my Chapter 02 folder and choose Missing and press Choose and it's loading my project. Now I've got this nasty thing that says, Where is the File broll verge_bcam_01.mp4? Well, I know that's in here, Premiere doesn't, so this is what is known as missing media. Anytime you move, or change the name of, or delete a file from a project after the last save, Elements is going to put up a pop-up like this that says, Where is the footage? and I can either skip for now, I can offline it, or I can go in here and reconnect the…
