Premiere Elements 10 Essential Training breaks down the editing workflow into bite-sized pieces, covering everything from setting up a project to exporting the final video to any format. Author David Basulto introduces the basics of editing in Adobe Premiere Elements as well as the advanced features like picture-in-picture overlays and audio and visual effects.
If you're a Premium member of the lynda.com Online Training Library or if you're watching this tutorial on a DVD-ROM, you have access to the exercise files to use throughout this title. So I've downloaded the exercise files onto my Desktop, and I'm going to double-click them. And here they're laid out by chapter, so you see Chapters 1 through 11, inside of the chapter there are the Premiere Elements files. In the assets folder are all the assets that we're going to be using. We'll just take a quick look. Here's all of our assets, and assets are the video files, music, and photos that we're going to be using throughout this course.
So, I've showed you where the assets are, but really all you need to go and do is open the project files, click on the Premiere Elements project, and double-click it to open. Premiere Elements will launch. Now, you might have this little dialog box that tells you Where is this broll atmosphere? So what's this asking you to do is to re-link the footage. Because I built these projects on my computer and they transferred to another computer, such as yours, the links have been broken, but that's easy to fix.
Let's go into the assets here, and we're looking for broll_sb_atmosphere_94, and let's find that. And we'll give ourselves a little bit of room here. And here it is, broll_sb_atmosphere_94. So then just click Open and your Elements file has opened, and everything is ready to go for you to learn Adobe Premiere Elements. So because we've found the exact file that it needed, Elements is smart enough to go and find the rest of the footage being used in this project. And once again, because I made this on my computer and it's now onto another computer, the links have been broken and you're going to have to reconnect the footage for every Premiere Elements project, but that is not a pain. Don't worry.
If you're a Monthly subscriber or an Annual subscriber to lynda.com, you don't have access to the exercise files, but you can follow along from scratch using your own assets. Ready? Let's get started.
