In addition to quickly creating drag and drop lessons, you can also search Blendspace for pre-created lessons and then integrate those lessons in your own instruction. In this video, let's go ahead and search for a pre-created lesson on photosynthesis. I'm going to start this search from my Blendspace homepage. This is the page you'll first come to when you log into Blendspace. Here, I can see my lessons or anything that I've created inside of Blendspace. And there's also featured lessons from other Blendspace users. Directly below the Featured Lessons section is a link that says See More Featured Lessons. Let's go ahead and click on this link.
I can now see a variety of featured lessons that are broken down by content area, such as math, science, social studies, language arts, and etcetera. I could simply scroll through this page and search for resources, or I could use the search field at the top of the box. I'm going to go ahead and type in photosynthesis in the search field. I'll click the Search button, and I can now see a variety of results for photosynthesis. In order to preview any of these lessons, all I have to do is simply click on the lesson. So, here I can see that there's a lesson automatically created for photosynthesis. It starts with a YouTube video, and it has some pictures that describe photosynthesis.
You'll notice right away that I'm in the student view of this particular lesson. On the right hand side, I have no ability to edit this lesson. If I'd like to take this lesson and modify it for my own classroom needs, I can simply click the Copy button in the upper left hand corner. This will copy all of the information from this particular lesson, but allow me to make additional changes. Let's go ahead and click Copy. Now that the lesson is copied, I need to come in and give it a new title. I'm just going to take out the words Copy of and leave it as Photosynthesis. On the right hand side, if I wanted to, I could search for additional resources and go ahead and drag them into this particular lesson.
Once I've made all the changes I like to the Photosynthesis lesson, all I have to do is click the Share button and share this with my students. I hope you've enjoyed exploring Blendspace, and this can be a great tool for creating resources for your students to use at home and in class. You can also use it for differentiated instruction, the flipped classroom, or allow your students to go in and to create their own lessons to showcase their learning.
