From the course: Objectified
Dan Formosa
- Well, I would think the key to innovation is reducing the risk, or the fear of risk. So a thing that we've been doing all along is to take our projects in a path that is very person-focused. It's very user-centric. And in doing that, along the way collecting images and photographs and video tapes of people responding to products or prototypes or mock-ups or models, or assisting products, and by doing that, we take our projects along a path where I think everyone is behind us. Our whole team, the client team, product development, engineers, etc. Once they all get on that wavelength, and have that point of view and that vision of where this product could be, then the fear of risk is reduced. The chance for innovation is increased. And if we've done our homework right, we've actually created more innovative products that actually would be more successful, so it actually reduces the risk.
