Hierarchy can be indicated with a variety of techniques. Often you will see multiple techniques being used to create priorities for the viewer. In the previous movies in this chapter we've covered some big ones. Position, size, weight, and color. Contrast is another factor you should consider when indicating Hierarchy in your design projects. This book cover uses one sans serif type family with some different sizes, widths, and weights. There's a lot of text on the cover. But what stands out the most is the title. Because the contrast between the white type on the gray background and the larger size proclaim that it's the most important text on the cover. So the viewer will gravitate first to that title because of factors which include high contrast. On this product label, the word ragu is the primary attention spot due to its high contrast with the background and also its weight and size.
