Before we can start using Calluna in our site, we need to create a Typekit. To do this, go to Typekit, and click on Register. As you can see, there are multiple plans to choose from. For this course, we're going to use the Free plan. With the Free plan, you can use up to two fonts, and you can use them on one site, and you can use all the fonts that are available in the trial library. The trial plan requires the use of Typekit badge, which tells visitors to your site that the fonts are from Typekit.
We don't need to look at this information right now. I'll show you everything you need to do the exercise files in this course. If you want to learn more about Typekit than I show you in this course, I recommend taking a look at another Lynda.com course called Up and Running with Typekit. For now, let's get started. First you'll be asked to create a kit. A kit is a bundle of fonts you want to use on your site. You can always change anything you set up on this page. Let's call the kit Choosing and Using Web Fonts, and then you'll need to choose the domain where the fonts will be used.
Don't worry about forgetting this code. You can always access it again through your kit, but if your site gets complex, you might want to keep track of what code goes with what kit. That way you don't have to keep looking up the code through the Web site. So let's copy this code. I usually keep a Word document with my codes in it. Type in Choosing and Using Web Fonts, and paste the code. And then I recommend saving this file as Choosing and Using Web Fonts Typekit codes, and I would put it in with my exercise files.
Back in Typekit, we can hit Continue, and we're all set. We can go and find some fonts.
