Animals: An amazing shortcut
Animals are one of the most amazing shortcuts in the field of identity. So what do I mean by shortcut? Let me tell you and to demonstrate I'm going to use on of the most ubiquitous logos I can find. I know that you recognize the Twitter logo. It's pretty hard to avoid and yet in the world of identity this logo went from zero to complete recognition virtually overnight. It was helpful that we may have already known about Twitter and were using it when this mark was created. But what does the mark tell you? It's packed with those shortcuts I just mentioned. Let's start thinking about the attributes you associate with the little bird, and see how much of this also is true for the product. Bluebirds tweet, and so do we, when we use it. Not only is the bluebird viewed as an omen of good luck worldwide, it had a song written about it in the 30s, entitled The Bluebird of Happiness.
