Now that we've covered how to make your type stand out against a busy background in this chapter, it's time to put it to the test. In the Exercise Files for this movie you'll find a folder with two documents. The first is an InDesign document that already has a photo in it, a photo I took while visiting the Grand Canyon. I used InDesign for my project but there's also a PDF you can import if you are using a different design software. There's also a Word document with some text. Figuring out how to make your text pop over a complex image is a common situation. Your creative challenge is to design a travel poster using the full frame of the image. And you must use all of the text in the Word document. You can choose any typefaces you wish, but I suggest limiting it, to one or two type families. You can use any color for your type and any combination of uppercase and lowercase. See what you can get done in about 20 minutes. Think about the image and where the type should sit on the image…
