Learn how to find, access, and view courses in the lynda.com training library. Staff author Garrick Chow explains how to find the "need to know" material quickly and browse other subjects you might be interested in. A full rundown of the types of training offered is included, from in-depth essential training on specific software packages, to first looks at up-and-coming technology trends, to inspirational documentaries following creative professionals working in a variety of disciplines. Garrick also shows how to use special library features such as bookmarks, the queue, certificates of completion, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and more, as well as where to turn for help when you need it. Plus, learn to access lynda.com on the go, either through our mobile site, or the iOS app, which also supports playing videos on your TV via AirPlay and an Apple TV.
When you're looking for courses covering specific software products, use the Software menu found in the Navigation Bar. Here, you'll find listings for both software companies as well as individual software titles. For example, here under A, I can see both Adobe, the software company, as well as Acrobat and Audition, which are both Adobe products. Or, let's same I'm interested in learning Pro Tools. Now, I already see Avid here. Listed under A, and they're the company that publishes Pro Tools. But I can also see there are nearly 40 courses that cover Avid software. Let's narrow it down by clicking P, and here I'll find Pro Tools. And now, I see all the Pro Tools related courses.
Again, you can browse through the recommendation area, here at the top of the page, which in this case is displaying the most popular courses related to Pro Tools. Or you can scroll down and view of the, in this case, 25 courses related to Pro Tools in order of release date or by using the Sort menu to reorder them. We also have the usual collection of filters to the left. When browsing by software products, you'll frequently see Version filters here. Maybe I'm mainly interested in Pro Tools 10 training, so I'll click 10 to filer my results. And that will show me only the tutorials that use Pro Tools 10.
And as we saw in a previous movie, I can continue to click filters to pare down my list. For example, I'll click intermediate under skill level to see just the Pro Tools courses that are aimed at people who already have basic Pro Tools skills. And that's how to browse by the Software menu in the Navigation Bar.
