In the last video we created a text e-mail version of our HTML e-mail. In this video we'll go back to Camping Monitor to show how to send both, text and HTML versions of our e-mail. The first step is to rename our email- invitation file that we've used to test. We'll rename this as email- invitation-final.html, and we'll save it. After that we'll refresh our FTP and we'll send it over to our server.
At Camping Monitor we want to click on the Two Trees Test campaign, and now we can update both our HTML and text e-mails. The name is changed to HTML invitation -final, click Get my campaign, we'll preview the campaign, it looks like everything is working. Now I'll go back to Saved Drafts, and we'll update our Text e-mail.
For that we'll return to our code editor or e-mail invitation file Ctrl+A or Command+A to Select, Ctrl+C or Command+ C to Copy, we'll highlight everything here, we do need to leave the unsubscribed link, make some space below so that that's clear. We'll scroll down and click I'm done, return to the snapshot. Now we are ready to send. We scroll down and click Test and define delivery, we'll scroll down we'll Skip the test.
We want to deliver the campaign immediately; we'll scroll down and click Send campaign immediately. Now let's see our results. We'll check in Google mail, and here, in Gmail, we see that our e-mail has arrived. The images are all turned off, however, it still displays fine. Let's turn the images on, we click Display images below, and everything looks good! This chapter has shown all the key steps needed to code, both HTML and text e-mails, as well as testing and sending our e-mails.
You should be able to code almost any e-mail using the techniques you've seen in this chapter. Good luck with your projects!
