Today, we'll show you how to use one HTML email delivery service, Constant Contact. As with other email delivery services, the email delivery service is fairly straightforward. First you create a list, then you create a campaign, you add your email to the campaign, and then you connect a list to your campaign and send. We'll see how to do this in Constant Contact. The first step is to create a list. In Constant Contact, click the Contacts link up at the top.
We have a list already created called General Interest. If you need to create a list, you can either manually add addresses or import your email address list. Now that we've created the list with the Contacts tab in Constant Contact, we click the Email Marketing tab to create our campaign. Click Create. We enter a name for our email. Click Next. We want to use our own code, so we scroll down, on the left, Use My Own Code.
We'll click the Use My Own Code button. The email format is HTML. Click Next. On the left side, we click Advanced Editor. We enter the subject line and highlight their code, delete it, go to Notepad, highlight, copy the code, and paste the code into Constant Contact.
We Save & Return. If we want we can preview the email. It displays fine. Close that off. Click Next. We don't want personalization. And this last step, we click Save & Next. We select a list to send this email to, and Constant Contact asks us to send it now or to schedule it. We'll send it now. Click the Finish button to send the email now in Constant Contact.
While this video shows how to send email with Constant Contact, the process is similar for all email delivery services.
