Ten things to include in a creative brief: Part one
A creative brief can contain lots of information. The trick is to make that information very concise. Use the fewest amount of words you can to sum up the key points. If you look in your resource files, you'll find a chart called the ten most important things to include in a creative brief. They are, background summary. Overview. Drivers. Audience. Competitors. Tone. Message. Visuals. Project details and people. Let me go over each one of these points in detail by providing the questions that will lead you to be able to write each component. The first component is Background Summary. A creative brief will identify the client, their product or service. In it, you'll summarize the client's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Which is what marketing experts call SWOT analysis. I've included a SWOT analysis template in your resource file for you to review later on, but returning to background.
