Project-based pricing strategy

Using the project type to inform pricing is another strategy designers use. This approach is based on the type of project, and what the deliverables are, rather than the amount of time it takes to create the deliverables. For example, if you design websites with a project type pricing strategy, you'd have a price for a basic site and maybe you'd also have a set price for a more complex site, with all the bells and whistles. In both cases you would have defined the scope of work yourself. And attached a project fee to it. Then you offer these websites to clients almost like a package deal. The client chooses basic or premium, and knows exactly what they're going to get for the price. Another variation on project type is to price based on the client and their business size. For example, the design of an identity package for a local restaurant is priced at a certain fee, but an identity package for a national chain of restaurants would be at a much higher fee.
