Factors impacting the phases of a project

I like to take a moment to talk about things that most affect the phases of work diagramed in the design process breakdown chart. First is Communication. Timely effective communication and knowledge sharing throughout the process is necessary. Incomplete or lax communication will sabotage design and your relationship with the client, and your team. Scope of work: Massive projects may require repetition of certain faces while smaller projects with less complexity may actually combine steps. Timing: Compressed schedules, means shortening phases and skipping details. Luxurious timeframes allow for more extensive work in each phase. Budget: Less money=less work, large budgets accommodate more work through more lengthy and involved explorations and procedures. Delivery media: Choice of delivery medium can mean more or less extensive collaboration with other types of suppliers, and that might affect the process and the schedule.
