Let's get the psychology of money out of the way so we can easily proceed with the rest of the course. For many designers, money is a really charged issue. It can involve some things that cause fear and are uncomfortable, including dealing with numbers in general and putting a numerical value on creativity. In order to price your work for clients, you'll need to become comfortable with thinking and talking about money. One of the first things to understand is that money is at the heart of all business transactions. It's not magic. It's a representation of what is valued and required by society. It's an exchange of services for financial gain. Luckily for us, society and business both value design. We provide a service that benefits our clients, and they know it.
