Let's keep looking at SAMOCA's project to help increase visitorship for their museum. Any briefing session with a client must include a discussion of the client's competition. In the case of SAMOCA, the client told us that their competitors were two art museums, located an hour north and an hour and a half south. When we looked into which museums the target audience was frequently visiting We found SAMOCA's list of competitors should expand to all kinds of cultural institutions. Especially the nearby natural history museum, which was a kid favorite. When we were briefed by the client, they told us they were committed to making art fun and accessible to everyone. They also said that SAMOCA was constantly updating their exhibits, and featuring a range of artists throughout the year. The clients primary objective is to increase visitorship.
