- In my experience of helping small business owners create organization chart I found that there are some common mistakes that people make. In this video I want to help you avoid those mistakes to save you some time and some money. First of all let's discuss the difference between management and coordination. Sometimes when people look at that organization chart they see all those boxes and say, "Well, this person needs to talk to this other person." If people are working together that's coordination, but if someone is managed or someone is the boss of another person that needs to be represented in the organization chart by being underneath that person. For instance, a sales manager may report to the sales and marketing manager, they would be underneath them in the organization chart, because the sales and marketing manager is their boss, but the sales and marketing manager may need to coordinate work with the production manager.
