Introducing Edge Code and Adobe Brackets

So maybe it's obvious that Edge Code and Brackets are text editors for web developers and designers. However you may not know what the difference is between the two. Edge Code is the commercial version of the project while Brackets is the open source version. Now because Brackets is open source, it means that anyone can contribute and add to the project. It also means that you can get Brackets for free. Brackets and Edge Code are written in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. So that makes it easier for regular web developers and designers to contribute to the project.

Once enough features get added to Brackets, the open source version of the program is repackaged into Edge Code. That means that most of the cutting edge development happens in Brackets, but Edge Code offers better integration with Adobe's Creative Cloud. Nevertheless, they're both excellent code editors. With tools like code completion, excellent live previews, and quick edits, these applications attempt to rethink the way code editing is done.
