Explode Layers Extrusion
In this movie we'll create the explode extrusion shape using Element 3D from Video Copilot. We'll build everything on the same layer since we need to respect the same 3D world of the plug-in for the purposes of casting shadows and easier animation. Our first step is actually to prepare the inner and outer shapes. In order to exclude them using the plug-in. For that I'm going to switch to Adobe Illustrator, where I've already opened up the Explode Inner Adobe Illustrator file, as well as the Explode Outer shapes. You can find both of those files in the Exercise folder. So let's select the inner first and copy it to memory. Then, switch back to After Effects. Make sure that the composition is still active and I'm going to create a new layer by pressing Cmd+y. I am going to name this one, Explode Inner. And, paste this information. So now we have a mask that we've pasted from Illustrator which represent the exact shape of the explode layer. Okay, let's repeat the same step for the outer…
