My book is all designed, inside and out, and I am now at the last stop of my Bookify bookmaking workflow. And that is to click the Ready to Order button, to publish the book to Blurb. So I click Ready to Order. If there are any problems with the book, for example if I'd put any images into image containers that weren't large enough to print well, I'd get a warning from Blurb at this point. But my book passes muster and so I am taken directly to this page on the Blurb website. Now, this isn't a public page.
This is just a page for me to see. From this page, I could order a copy of my book in any of the various covers, I can upgrade to Premium Paper and see what other upgrades there are, but I don't have to order the book yet. This message tells me that the book is going to stay here on my private page for 15 days. If I don't do anything to it within those 15 days, then Blurb will take it down, assuming I've abandoned it. In the meantime, if I realize that there are some edits I need to make to the book, I can do that. I'll just click the Edit button here, and here I'll decide whether I want to make my edits directly on this version of the book or if I want to duplicate the book and make my changes on a copy.
Duplicating the book is safer, but since I'm only going to make a small change, I'll click Edit Book for now. That reopens the book in Bookify, here in the editing workspace. Here, the edit that I want to make is to remove the photo borders from around the photos in the book. So I'll go to the Choose Background and Borders icon under any of the pages in the book, I'll click on Photo borders, I'll click Change all pages to this style, and then the style I am going to select is none. And that takes the borders off of all of the photos in the book, as I can see if I move through the pages.
Once again, I'll click Preview, and it is important to carefully preview every page in the book. I am not going to do that right now, assuming I've already done that. Instead, I am going to click Ready to Order again and once again the book is published, with my edits, to my private page. So Blurb still hasn't charged me anything. It hasn't printed any copies of the book to sit around in a warehouse. This is a print on demand service and it'll be up to me whether this book will ever become public, whether it'll be sold in the Blurb Bookstore, and whether and how I'll promote it to family and friends, all subjects I'll address in the next chapter.
