Video: Importing photos from photo-sharing services

When you are making a Bookify book, you can get the photos that you are going to use in the book either from your computer or from any accounts you may have on these online photo sharing sites: Flickr, SmugMug, Zenfolio, Picasa, or Instagram. In this movie, as an example of these photo sharing sites, I am going to show you how you can bring photos from your Instagram feed directly onto the pages of a Bookify book. I am going to go to the Apps menu and then I'll go down to Make an Instagram book.

Importing photos from photo-sharing services

When you are making a Bookify book, you can get the photos that you are going to use in the book either from your computer or from any accounts you may have on these online photo sharing sites: Flickr, SmugMug, Zenfolio, Picasa, or Instagram. In this movie, as an example of these photo sharing sites, I am going to show you how you can bring photos from your Instagram feed directly onto the pages of a Bookify book. I am going to go to the Apps menu and then I'll go down to Make an Instagram book.

You can read all about Instagram books here on this page, I'm just going to click Get Started. Here, I have to log into my Instagram account with my Instagram Username and Password. Instagram is an iPhone app. When you download Instagram to your iPhone from the iPhone App Store, you'll create an account with the username and password, and then you can add some really cool old-fashioned filters from Instagram to your iPhone photos. And you can share those photos with your social network through your Instagram feed.

So, I already have an Instagram account. I'm going to enter my Instagram Username and Password here and I'll click Login. Bookify recognizes my Instagram account and it asks me to enter a title for the book of Instagram photos that I am creating with Bookify. This is the book of photos that I took in Venice, so I am going to call this book Venice Redux, and for the Author name, I will put my name, and then I'll click OK. Bookify finds my Instagram feed with all its photos and it automatically creates for me a Bookify book: A 7x7 small, square book. And it flows onto the pages of that book the photos from my Instagram feed.

This size book, I think, is just right for small Instagram photos like this one. I am going to click the arrow on this preview page so I can preview the pages of the book that was automatically created for me with my Instagram photos. If I'm happy with the way this auto created book looks, I can click Ready to Order down here and order a copy of the book. If I want to tweak the book, I can click Edit book, and that opens this Bookify book in the Bookify editing interface. Now it's just like any other Bookify book.

Here, I can change out the page layouts, I can swap photos from page to page, I can add photo borders and colored backgrounds, I can design a cover, and so on. I've actually got a completed copy of this book that I'd like to preview for you. Here's the cover of my completed book. Here's the title page, and here are the inner pages of the book. I think these photos would look great printed on ProLine Uncoated paper. So that's the paper I'm going to choose when I order my copy of this book.

I think it's really amazing that you can get a book as sophisticated as this with just a few clicks that autoflow your Instagram photos directly into a Bookify book like this one.
