Hiding and unhiding the Course Menu

From: Blackboard 9.x Essential Training for Instructors

Video: Hiding and unhiding the Course Menu

To temporarily hide your course menu, click the Less Than sign on the right side of your Course menu. To restore your Course menu, click the Greater Than sign. So what does that mean? Well, Blackboard 9 offers a feature that lets you temporarily hide your course's Course menu. This gives you some extra space on the screen, and that's helpful if you're on a netbook with a small screen. Now one thing I can guarantee is that one of your students will accidentally hide the course menu and then complain to you, but they're not going to say, 'I accidentally hid the course menu.' They're going to say, 'I can only see what's new in the course. I can't see any of the old content.' Or, 'I can no longer access the course files.' So be on the watch-out. This absolutely is going to happen.

This absolutely is going to happen.

You need to be able to handle this situation. Just remember, if you ever get into a Blackboard course and you cannot see the course's links or the course menu on the left side of the page, that usually signifies that your course menu is hidden. Click the Show Course Menu button to make your course menu reappear.
