Understanding the anatomy of a command

At first glance AutoCAD's toolset may seem overwhelming. Learning to use these tools is actually easier than you may think. That's because every command works the exact same way. In this lesson, we're going to explore the anatomy of a command. I'm going to start by moving up to the Draw Panel, and I'll launch the Line command. Then we'll look down at the bottom of the screen. This is called the command line. This is where AutoCAD speaks to us and tell us what it needs to complete the running command. Right now, it wants me to specify the first point. So I'll left click a point on screen, and then I'll look at the command line again. It wants me to specify another point. I'll pick a few more points here. All the while, my recent command line history floats up into model space. Let's click one more, and then I'll look at the command line again.
