Incorporating symbols

Sometimes construction drawings may require special characters that aren't found on the keyboard. In this lesson, we're going to learn how to access virtually any symbol we may need. On my screen I have a drawing of a small plan of subdivision. It consists of five single family lots. And I'm in the process of labeling the lot lines and the lot areas. Let's zoom in a little bit closer, I have one more bearing that I'd like to label, it's going to look very similar to this one. Let's find out what the bearing of this line is. To do that, I'll select the line and I'll come over to the properties palette, mine happens to be anchored to the interface. If yours is not, you can press Ctrl+1 to bring your palette up on screen. I'll drag this down to the bottom and we can see this line was drawn at a 311 degree angle. That's nice, but I would rather that angle be displayed in degrees minutes seconds.
