Working with groups

In this video, we will explore groups. Groups allow you to manipulate a collection of objects as a single unit. Open the architectural sample file and zoom in to the dining area here. Right now this is a collection of lines and arcs. I'd like to unify all of those individual objects as a group. That way I'll be able to manipulate it as a chair rather than a selection of a bunch of bits. Making a group is very simple. All you have to do is select the objects you're interested in and click Group. Incidentally, that's called noun/verb selection because I selected the stuff I want to work on, the noun, and then I performed an action on it by using the Group command. You can go the other way around, you can go verb first and then noun if you prefer. Let me Undo. So, these are still individual pieces. In this manner I can use the verb first, that is the Group command. And then I get a Select Objects prompt, where I can select all the pieces, and press Enter. It's really the same difference,…
