Another major interface item AutoCAD uses are palettes. Palettes give us access to commands, settings, drawing content, and calculation tools among other things. They've also been known to take up a lot of screen real estate. In this lesson, we'll learn how to manage and optimize palettes. I'd like to start by displaying a palette. To do that we'll go to the View tab, task based. I want to view something. I will then come down to the Palettes panel. Here's where you'll find an icon that can be used to turn any of AutoCAD palettes on and off. One palette I use frequently is the Property's Palette. I'm going to click the Properties icon to display that on screen. Note that you can also toggle the display of the Properties Palettte using the keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+ 1. And when this palette comes up, it's not that impressive. It's kind of squeezed down right now. I'm going to click and hold on the right side, then I'll drag this out a little bit.
