arcgis.com is a growing online environment that allows you and others to do some simple web mapping and simple application development. At the university, I teach students the full array of the power of arcgis.com, but that is beyond the scope of the current course. So I'll do a short introduction. Here we are at arcgis.com. As I mentioned in a previous video, there's a subscription based arcgis.com that you can use to develop arcgis server like map services, and geo processing applications. The subscription based approach can be run online through Ezri, or you can install it on a local intranet and host it internally. If that's the case, then we call it a different name. Instead of arcgis.com, we call it portal. Let's go ahead and now sign in to arcgis.com, and explore this environment. In the upper right choose Sign In.
