Preparing for specific interview questions

Now let's take a look at the specifics for the GIS job interview. You should prepare and review what you know, and be ready to summarize what you've done in GIS. Try to be specific about the training and the projects that you've worked on. First, you should write down questions you would ask about GIS if you were the one hiring. And then try and answer them. You should be ready to articulate your GIS skills in about a minute, because they will ask for them. Also, you should be able to describe the projects and the training that you've had and be prepared to show them an online demonstration, or a paper map or report of your work. Proving the success of your work goes a long way. If the company is using a certain GIS data set, you should learn it. If they ask about something like open street map, or you know that they're using a specific GPS unit, you should learn about that. Also, you should be able to describe your programming skills.
