Let's take a closer look at the ins and outs of importing through iPhoto which is our simple way of doing this. So, if I wanted to bring all 12 of these beauties in, I would just have to click on the blue, Import 12 photos and boom. They will all go into the library. Now, you may have noticed, we have some similarity here among these images so I may not want to bring in all 12. Let me show you how to bring in just a few of them. So, I'm going to click on one. I'm going to hold down the Command key, click on another thumbnail.
I'm still holding the Command key and we're just going to bring in a few here. Just like that. Now, you can also do the Shift key method where you click on one, hold the Shift key and then go to an end in the series like that. So, you have either way and then you can hold down the Command key to unclick a few of them. Isn't this fun? Look at this, just like this. So, we'll grab these five images right now that are selected.
Now, do I want to give it an event name? Sure. Let's just call it Sunset, for our event name and they were all shot about at the same time in sequence as you can tell here. That's it! We're ready to go. I just go up to the blue Import Selected button. It reads the images. Now, one thing I suggest is that you choose, Keep Photos, don't delete them here in case you change your mind or you want to do something else with those images on the card.
I like deleting images on the camera and not at the computer. So, I'm going to click Keep Photos. Here they are, right here. Now, let's go to Events just real quick so you can see what happened. So, iPhoto created an event for me. It gave it the name that I indicated and it has the five photos that I selected. That is importing with iPhoto and if you like the simple way of bringing the images into your library, this is it.
