In a previous movie, I talked about how you can control the Photo Stream so you don't end up with all sorts of goofy stuff in your Aperture library. And that implies that we end up with goofy stuff in our photo stream, which we do, or at least I do. I hope I'm not the only one that this happens to. Now in Aperture 3.3, we can even delete the goofy stuff out of our Photo Stream, which I think is a very, very nice feature. And I will show you a case in point. I did not plan this, this just worked out this way.
So here's my Photo Stream, we're looking at it. Look at this series of shots right here, look at this, I don't know how those got there. I think my camera went off when I was packing my bag or something like this. I don't want these in my Photo Stream, there is no need, they're just taking up space. So I'm going to click on the first one here, hold down the Shift key, click on the one and the end of this cycle here, and I want to get rid of these. I want them to be gone.
So I am going to right-click on the image, and you'll see that in the pop-up menu there, in the contextual menu I get Delete from Photo Stream. That means not only will they not show up here in Aperture, they're going to be gone from the Stream altogether, which means they won't be clogging up my other devices either, which I'm very happy about. To get rid of these embarrassing photos--of course only you and I are seeing these right now-- so you know I am going to get rid of them before it's too late. Here we go, just click on that. We get a warning, which is good.
We want a warning in this case, because this means that they are gone, gone, which I'm fine with, so I am going to click on Delete, and now no more. I am very happy about that, so I don't have those goofy photos in my Photo Stream anymore. So now you can use Aperture to actually clean up the Photo Stream itself. I think that is a great feature, and this one I hope you take advantage of too.
