Let's spend a moment taking a look at our top toolbar right here. Now, I should mention that these icons that we have up here, these are like shortcuts to things that you have in the menu system. So you can play with these shortcuts. You can get rid of the one that you don't like and add ones you do like and just make Aperture a little bit more friendly. Now, here's how you do that. You go up to View, you go down here to Customize Toolbar, right here. And look at that, oh my gosh! There are a lot of shortcuts here, aren't there? So, if you want to get rid of one, let's say that you're not absolutely wild about keywording, you don't do it all the time, and you want to replace it with something else.
A way to do that is go up to the one that we're not crazy about. We can just grab it right here. Boom! I love doing it. That sound is so funny. Boom! You're gone. And then we're going to replace it with something else. For example, let's say that I create new projects a lot. I can just drag that right up here. And then I like to put those projects in folders, I do that a lot, and I can drag that up here. Now again, these are just shortcuts.
These save you having to remember the keystrokes or going up to the menu system. They're just very handy little icons right here for the things that you use most often. Now, if you start to go really crazy, it'll just keep taking new things until you literally run out of space. And at some point you may go, oh my gosh, what have I done, this thing is a mess/ It's like a bad apartment. Fear not, you can always go back to how it was in the beginning by dragging the default set up here, and boom! All fresh and new, just the way it was when you first opened Aperture.
Whenever you get it however you want it, just click the Done key, and there you go. So, now Aperture is just a little friendlier to you than it was before.
