Discover how to build an Android game and distribute it in the Google Play app store, using Cocos2d-x and the Eclipse Platform. Plus, author Todd Perkins shows how to monetize your game further with income from Google Mobile ads. The course demonstrates how to install and set up your coding environment; build the game's core scenes, layers, and sprites; handle touch and accelerometer data; create classes based on a detailed game flow chart; and manage misses, wins, and scores. Last, you'll prepare your game to support Google ads and in-app purchases.
(music playing) Hi! I am Todd Perkins. Welcome to Building and Monetizing Games Apps for Android. Throughout this course you'll see how you can build an Android Game from scratch. We'll start the course by discussing how to install and setup Eclipse to use Cocos2d-X. Then we'll cover how Cocos2d-x works to create individual game elements, so you can become familiar with the gaming engine.
Then we will create the Game classes, then we will have an overview of some prewritten code, and write all of the game played code from scratch. We'll look at how to monetize your game by adding things like Ads, and In-App Purchases. And finally, will discuss where you can go after this course to better improve your game development skills. Now we can move forward with Building and Monetizing Game Apps for Android.
