Most recently used search, also called MRU search, automatically remembers search terms that use often and allows you to save your favorites for instant access. There are three search fields in here and I'll just clear that one. There is one in the Project panel, one in the Timeline, and one over here in Effects & Presets. The project has always had a couple of keywords that you could use to look for, for example, unused footage and those have always existed but now you can find them easily in this little menu.
Similarly, down here in the timeline, you can look for specific sets of properties. So, for example, I can reveal on the applicable layers that set of properties for each layer and I'll just use the Tilde key above the Tab to reveal that that's open for all those layers. Now it's useful to just notice what is revealed and hidden in each of these features. So when I close that, everything goes away and if I just look for that set of features relating to 3D layers, only the 3D layers with those features are shown.
Over in Effects & Presets, I've always been able to search for a given effect or preset, but now I can build up a little menu of some of my favorites, up to 10 of them. So I've started creating a list of some of the effects that were used in this course, and to that I can add Timecode and I'll just Shift+click on that and then it's added to the menu. Now let's just take a look, if I clear that. It called the Timeco because that's as much as I typed. So I'm going to go ahead and with that one highlighted, click Delete, and now it is eliminated from the list.
Let me just try out again, the way I wanted to appear in that menu, and now I've got the menu item that I want. So the new search menu options help you find the features you need most or use most often.
