Now, I've poked around the web and the general consensus is that the average English speaking adult can read about 250 to 300 words on a printed page per minute. Now, if you talk about proofreading, that number goes down to around 200 words per minute. And if you actually move that printed type from a printed page onto a screen. It actually decreases another 10%, to around 180 words per minute. Now if you're wondering what all this has to do with you, well you want to make sure to understand how long it takes somebody to read something before you set type on the page. So if we do a little quick math here, you'll notice, 180 divided by 60 seconds. We're looking at three seconds per word. So if we look at our project here, you'll see I'm in the lower third composition. Now, this composition is a traditional lower third.
