There's been several significant changes to the plug-ins that come bundled with After Effects. For one, if you are the type of person who likes to work in 32-bit floating-point mode, several Adobe plug-ins have now been upgraded to work with 32-bit floating-point color. Now, I've included a list here off to the right. Second, if you like to use the Cycore CC effects, well I've got some good news for you. Cycore FX HD is bundled with After Effects CS6. That means you get at least 16-bit, if not 32-bit, color support on all of the effects, plus you get a list of additional effects that come bundled with After Effects now.
I'll be demonstrating those here in a little bit. Third, the Apply Color LUT, or Look Up Table, effect has now been improved to support some additional formats, including the .look format that's exported from SpeedGrade, the powerful color-grading software that Adobe has acquired and now included in the production premium suite. There has been a few negative things as well. FreeForm is no longer bundled with After Effect. That's a shame, because that was a great 3D warping plug-in. Secondly, if you are the type of person who relied upon the Live Photoshop 3D plug-in to bring in imported models, Repousse objects, et cetera, from Photoshop into After Effects, bad news: that's not supported in CS6 either.
There's has been some changes on both sides of the fence. They just couldn't get compatibility down for this release. However, Color Finesse is still in there, as I showed you in the previous movie. So is mocha. So, let's go play around with some of these new effects.
