Promethean interactive whiteboards bring the immediacy of touch to your teaching. Learn the tools and best practices for using one in your classroom, in this course from author and educator Aaron Quigley. Aaron shows how to set up your Promethean board; download ActivInspire, the software that drives Promethean boards; and get started creating new presentations that include video, quizzes, and annotations. He'll also focus on teaching methods that get your students actively involved with the Promethean board, and offer challenges along the way to test their skills.
Throughout this chapter, as we were creating this interactive page, I hope you had an opportunity to explore the Resource Browser. Here there's a variety of items that are available to you to quickly add to your presentations. This can save you a lot of time as you create interactive presentations for your own classes. In addition to the Resource Browser, you can also find additional resources at prometheanplanet.com. Promethean Planet, similar to Promethean World, which is the website where you get information about Promethean boards. Promethean Planet incorporates a community of Promethean board users who share resources online.
In fact, on the right hand side, I can see that there's currently 92,644 resources available online. If you're looking for a resource for an interactive presentation, this is a great place to start. You can go to Resources and there's a variety of options. Collections and assets is a great starting place because here you can download a variety of resource pack. A resource pack will often have backgrounds as well as interactive elements that you can use. As I scroll down this page, I can also see that there's graphic organizers, fall backgrounds, and even additional timers that I can use to embed directly in my presentations.
It's well worth it to take the time to create a username and login for Promethean Planet, and spend a little bit of time looking around. This could save you from creating a resource that you could simply download with the click of a mouse.
