Before you send out your form for people to fill out, it would be nice if it's as small as possible. Now this is not a very big form, but let's see how big it is. When I go to File>Properties and I choose the Description tab, at the lower left you can see it's about 232K. That's a pretty small file, but it could be smaller. So, what's going to make it smaller? Well, you're going to find that as you work on a PDF, as you add form fields and you edit them, you rename them, you duplicate them, move them, all those little activities add to the file size.
If you want to you can sort of think of it as a database feature going on in Acrobat as it keeps track of what's happened. So, let's see what happens when we sort of temp things down and economize the file and this is all you have to do. File>Save As, and I'm just going to put this on my Desktop, call it smallerfile, and that's the file I have opened now. Let's see if it's any smaller. Back again to File>Properties, it's down to 30K. So, that's a pretty good file size savings. So, I would strongly recommend that you do this certainly when you're finished creating your form and it's not a bad idea to do it along the way now and then, just to economize your file size.
It's very easy to do, just File>Save As and you can even overwrite your original filename and just check to see if you don't get a smaller file as a result.
