Adding bone fins
Once you've added your bones to your character and positioned them you want to go ahead and add what are called bone fins. Now, these will help the deformation of the character when you get to skinning. So, let's go ahead and do that. I'm actually going to go ahead and select my bone here. And actually, let's go into wire frame. We might be able to see this a little bit better. So if I select my bone, you'll see that, under my parameters here, I have this rollout here called Bone Fins. So if I click these on, let's go ahead and click on the Side Fins. And you'll see that it adds fins to the bone. And these actually will be used by Max when you get to deformation. So what we want to do is fit these to the size of the characters. So we want to make sure that these basically are about the size of the character's thigh. So you can see that we have these side fins, but we also have additional fins for front and back. So if I click on my Front Fin you'll see that there it is, and I can just…
